Luis Suarez accepts ban for biting Branislav Ivanovic

Luis Suarez

Soccer is the game of many events which are nowhere to find otherwise; we have seen players hitting each other in various ways in the past, and now Liverpool striker Luis Suarez bites Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during a 2-2 draw against Chelsea on Sunday at Anfield. He now accepts his ban for doing a shameful act on the ground. His punishment includes a ten matches’ ban for his inexcusable behavior. He recently offered his apologies via tweeter to the world and mentioned that “I am truly very sorry. I hope that all the people who I have offended at Anfield last Sunday will grant me forgiveness, and I again repeat my personal apology to Branislav.” He also stated in his public statement that injury sustained by Branislav was not as severe as we have seen in the past, but it one of the rigid actions on the soccer pitch which was never seen before. He also said that he accepts his ten matches’ suspension with heart and will not appeal against it otherwise there will be a wrong message in the community.

His ten matches’ ban means he will not be a part of Liverpool squad for upcoming matches against Newcastle, Everton, Fulham, and QPR and few initial matches of the next season. There is also news in the media that he is planning to appeal against seven matches ban while accepting first three matches ban, which means, his ban can further be increased if he could not produce enough evidence in his appeal. He further added to his tweet that “I know that all the things that are happening to me in England will help me to improve my conduct on the field. Right now, I just want to focus on becoming a better footballer on and off the field. Many things have been said and written about me, I just tried to do my best on the field. I hope to come back early to play.”

He continued and added, “I would like to explain to everybody that I decided to accept this ban because whilst 10 games is clearly greater than those bans given in the past where players have actually been seriously injured, I acknowledges that my actions were not acceptable on the football pitch so I don’t want to give the wrong impression to people by making an appeal.”

Obviously, he knows what he did and that is why he is trying hard to cover his indispensable behavior which could further cost him if he doesn’t accept his mistake at this time.
