With an attack comprising the heavy weight strikers like Messi and Brazilian sensation Neymar, any team can puff its chest up and this is something that is being happened to Spanish giant Barcelona who now has arguably the finest striking power. Last week, Neymar joined Spanish club on a five-year deal sidelining several other interesting clubs including Barca’s arch rival Real Madrid who apparently offered much bigger amount for 21 year old striker, but he chose Camp Nou club for its addiction to its dominance. The news of his arrival to Spain is on the front pages of all leading sports newspapers there but one thing that was not sure until now was, how he would be nicknamed on the T-shirt or what the magic number his kit would have imprinted on it. Now, Barcelona has officially joined him into its army of players labeling his kit as No 11 and bearing ‘Neymar Jr’ on the back of his T-shirt. Despite all the exaggeration created over last one week, he will still have to play as the second to Messi irrespective of how dominating he is as far his ball holding techniques are concerned. When he arrived at airport, tens of thousands of fans gathered around him welcoming him on Barca’s soil, he acknowledged them and said, “I am very happy, very moved to be a Barcelona player and fulfill my dream. I want to help the team. I have come to add my part so that Lionel Messi continues to be the best player in the world.”
Moreover, he has then been welcomed by a mob of photographers who were eager to take a glimpse of their new young star. Barca teammates have already given their vote of confidence in his favor and he has already passed two required medical tests too, so there is nothing that can now stop him playing for Spanish giant. Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta also says that “He can bring us a lot because he is very talented player. He brings his ability to break down defenses, to score, and to entertain. He is young. He has a long path ahead of him, and he is coming to the best place to grow.
“He is coming to the best possible place for him. Let him do what he does best, that is enough. It is great news that we can count on him. Surrounded by the people he will have here, he will get better and better. ‘Great players always understand one another. Leo will be make Neymar better, and Neymar will make Leo better.”
