Spanish giant Real Madrid has ever been an aggressive buyer whenever a transfer window opens, coz it places luring bids to decoy its craved players. This time, it defeated none other than its English rival Manchester City and signed Malaga’s attacking midfielder Isco on a five-year term for a reported fee of £23m who becomes the first signee of its new manager Carlo Ancelotti. The probable reason of him choosing Spanish club rather City where he could have his former boss Manuel Pellegrini waiting for him, could be his alignment toward a Spanish club rather shifting to England. Right now, Isco is young and talented perhaps he has also played for his national under-21 team that won the European Championship. Performance wise, he fired three goals in five played games and also made his senior debut in February, so he is one of the most optimistic signees by The Whites. He is a great admirer of Manuel Pellegrini who signed him at Malaga from Valencia in back in 2011 and always says that he wanted to play with his godfather, but unfortunately, he, somehow, chose Real over City where he could have his ‘Godfather’ mentoring him again. Actually, it is an unexpected release from La Liga club as well coz they renewed his contract few months back with a buy-out clause.
Off late, he has been on radar of many clubs since he won respected European Golden Boy award in 2012, moreover, he also performed well for his former club and helped them reach in the quarterfinals of the Champions League. When asked about him in a news conference, Real manager said, “From what I have seen of him, it’s clear he has a lot of quality. Spain’s Under-21 side has a lot of great players and he is one of the best. He could get into any team in the world, so he could also play for Madrid.”
It is, indeed, a strange move from the midfielder coz he has always been a big fan of Barcelona, Real’s arch rival, and its legendry Andres Iniesta. However, notably, Messi is nowhere in his admired list of Barca players, in fact he has a dog named Messi which shows what he thinks about the finest striker we have today. Overall, he scored twelve times out of his forty five played matches last season in La Liga and next season he will again be in the same league but wearing another t-shirt!
