Mario Balotelli has always been in the news whether he is playing for Manchester City or for his native club AC Milan. Earlier, he used to come into the limelight for his nasty behaviors; perhaps his former EPL club usually called him rather an indiscipline player, and now, he has become a worthy asset for Italian club AC Milan. Causes of his transformation from a ‘bad’ player to an excellent performer is not easily understandable, but it is clearly evident that infamous striker is touching the sky ever since he left the City for Milan back in January. Italian club finished on the third place in just concluded Confederation Cup and its forward striking lineup has been the main contributor for their brilliant performance. Especially, Balotelli left an impact across the board by firing 12 fantastic goals in 13 played match, in fact, he could not play in the semis coz of his injury, still, his team fought till the end and lost only in the penalty shootout – that too – firing six perfect shots. Balotelli’s forward line partner, Stephan El Shaarawy, who has recently been linked with an unnamed club, is also a jewel for them despite his shadow performance in the just concluded event. Reports now say that Shaarawy has also refused to make a shift from San Siro citing a fresh confidence of club’s president in him.
Rossoneri vice president Adriano Galliani has now openly commended Balotelli’s role in Italian triumph in world cup warm-up event; he said, “He is a top star, even if he was often a reserve at Inter and Manchester City. When he arrived at Milan I told him to continue being a star, but a starting one. I consider him to be a bargain, as he scored 12 goals in 13 games and we are paying for him in monthly instalments.” He further added about Shaarawy that “Stephan received an important offer with super wages for him. But the lad asked to stay and we were happy to keep him.”
Galliani also applauded his club’s consistence performance in last few years, perhaps he sees no reason his club can’t finish on the top places in the Serie A. He added, “Milan never go below third place, as over the last five years we have always been on the Serie A podium. When our season went really badly, we finished third. For other clubs, such as Inter and Juve, when they had a bad season they didn’t even finish on the podium. Juventus are still in pole position for the Scudetto, because they won it last year. However, Milan are right up there, so at least we’ll be in the top three.”
