While on the one side, Barcelona is known for snatching big players from any club in the world, it is also a fact that other clubs also don’t let any opportunity go away to hire Barca’s players. Thiago Alcantara is one such defender who has been an important part for Barcelona’s defense and after his makeshift to Bayern Munich, he recalled his cheering memories playing at Spanish giant, in fact, he remembers fans the most. Alcantara let everyone know about his feelings leaving Barcelona he talked to the world via his twitter account and said, “I didn’t want to end my time at Barca without saying goodbye to you, those who have always been there. Leaving the club that took me under its wings as a 14-year-old… it was a difficult decision that I gave a lot of thought to. Barca and everyone involved with the club have given me everything. They have helped me grow, mature and learn from the good and bad times. Team-mates, coaching staff, employees, fans, especially the fans… who make this club great after victories and defeats. Thank you all for these last few years. Thank you to those who have been at my side during the most difficult times.”
He also thanked Barcelona training campaign where he could sharp his playing skills so much; though it was fan support which led him grow as an international player. When he was praising so many things at Barca, how he can forget mentioning about Tito who recently resigned for his cancer treatment, he said, “Like we said to Abi ‘When there are rocks blocking your way, hold onto them all and one day you’ll build a castle.’ No one has any doubt that you will get through this.”
Now, he is not the part of Blaugrana defense which is a matter of concern for the Spanish club coz there is an urgent need to fill the space created by his departure that too very soon. This is also a reality that finding a true replacement for Alcantara is very difficult though there are other good players capable of securing its defense, but after a silence in the top decision making table at Barca, it does not seem that someone will be hired so quickly. Anyway, Alcantara is now at Munich where he has scored his first goal playing in Bavarians’ 5-1 win over Borussia Moenchengladbach in Sunday’s final of the pre-season Telekom Cup.
