Current transfer window is going to close coming Monday; hence every club is finalizing its pending deals, and one such league club is Arsenal. Its manager Arsene Wenger, who failed to bring several aspiring players to Holloway coz of their not so luring bids, promises he will not buy any player or revise previous failed bids in any pressure, in fact, he will not make any panic buy. Notably, his statement is important if we read it along with Club boss Ivan Gazidis words where he said they will not dither spending extra amount if any player fills their needs. Looking at Arsenal’s two failed attempts for Luis Suarez and one for Yohan Cabaye, it is widely believed that League club is wavering spending extra sum even if they are in lack of quality players coz of injuries to their regular ones. In fact, a pressure is also building up on club bosses especially Wenger to shell out more money to hire players of his choice. This transfer window has not been so successful for the Gunners coz they could only sign one forward Yaya Sanogo and one midfielder Mathieu Flamini while failing on as many as three big deals.
As far current lineup is concerned, there are four big names: Lukas Podolski, Thomas Vermaelen, Mikel Arteta, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who are already going through their respective injuries; hence The Invincibles desperately need more meat at the center. Wenger said about a building pressure on him, “We will not panic buy, that is for sure. It is not my strength to panic. The players we have here know how we want to play the game, and that is important. If we can add players who can integrate that style of play, we will do it. We will not do anything stupid, for the sake of saying we have done something. We do what makes sense, that is simple.”
Out of club’s surplus players, Nicklas Bendtner is also planning to leave the side for a long absence from the field, though he has now been promised to have a chance if he could prove his fitness. Manager said about him, “The chances for him to leave now are very, very small. If he does not leave, prepares well and is really fit, I will use him.”
Similarly, he said about Flamini’s return to Emirates Stadium, “At the start, I did not want to sign him. The circumstances, and his attitude, convinced me to do it. I did not expect him to be in that mental state or physical shape.”
