Bale is being treated as an eye candy by Wales’ national team selectors who want him in the team, but citing his security concerns, they also don’t want to feature him in their last eleven. However, he was in the team as a substitute during Friday defeat to Macedonia, yet he remained unused throughout the game, and more especially; his security breach made national selectors more vigilant about world priciest player. Earlier, it was being assumed that he will feature in the next qualifier at Cardiff City Stadium, but now, it is confirmed that he has not recovered completely from his groin strain he sustained ahead of Friday game; hence he will not feature – not even as substitute – in Wales next world cup qualifier. Though, he imparted in the training session but his scan results not favoring him to play a match at the moment, even Real do not want he worsens his strain playing any game at present.
If we talk about Bale’s health, he has not played any game since July 16 coz of his foot injury; later, he joined Spanish giant and then he came back to his national team for WC matches. Manager Chris Coleman said about his unavailability, “We had a conversation with Gareth before the game. He had a tight groin from the day before and we could not take that chance. As we speak he has gone to have another scan on it to clear his mind so he knows everything is alright. He was never going to be available to start either of these games, but at best he would have come on for maybe half an hour. There is a small chance of that tomorrow night..”
For many game experts, it could be an intelligent move by both national selectors and player himself, coz he just signed a record breaking deal and at this stage if he gets a severe injury that affects his contract terms, Bale would be nowhere; hence it is better to rest him and enjoy his media coverage than forcibly causing him for more injuries. Coleman described it as, “We cannot risk Gareth Bale or any of our players, we’ve got to send them back to their clubs. He’s only probably trained three or four times in the last two months. He’s such an athlete and he wanted to come. He came the evening of his unveiling in Madrid, he’s trained the next day, he’s trained three days – he’s not ready.”
