A hundred million euros figure seems to be in fashion these days, and every club around the world is tagging its star players around that number. If anyone is to be blamed for this price war, it is one and only Real Madrid who has set many records as far priciest players are concerned. In fact, it has now become a fashion to value every player at a maximum figure where Spanish giant is interested in. After Spurs’ Bale, Juventus’ midfielder Arturo Vidal was also on the radar of La Liga runner up, but for some reason; Serie A club denied his sale. Giuseppe Marotta, the general director at Turin, now openly says if Bale is worth 100 million, so as their 26-year old versatile player. He valued his starlet based on his performances last season which helped them win back to back Serie A titles. Perhaps, he has displayed a powerful show in all three initial Italian league matches as well. Tagging him worth 100 million, Marotta said, “If Bale is worth 100 million euros, Vidal is also worth that figure. Vidal is a great player and this summer Real Madrid showed an interest in him but we turned it down. Selling him is simply out of the question.”
Though, his valuation is just notional coz there is no one who is willing to offer them any figure around it, or it could also be an attempt to grasp media headlines without any base. As far former Bayer Leverkussen player’s stay in Italy is concerned, they will not let him go anywhere at least their new contract extension hints that. Another eye candy of Antonio Conte’s team is Paul Pogba who is also being linked with a league club off late, but Antonio Conte is not interested in releasing him as well. Off late, Pogba has played for Manchester United for three seasons scoring five goals for league champions.
Clarifying his stand on French international, Marotta said, “Just as with Vidal, our view on Pogba is the same. He has unexpectedly stolen the limelight and I want to congratulate him and Conte, who has managed to bring out the best in him.
“Pogba is an important element to our team and all the offers that we received for him we turned them down. With regards to his contract, if his talent becomes a reality at the highest level, as we hope it will be the case, then we will reward him with an increase in wages.”
