Barcelona’s superstar Lionel Messi has ever been an eye candy for soccer world, in fact, every club every region wants a player like him plays for them and that is why every other day a rumor unveils the earth that either he wants to make a shift to somewhere else or Barcelona is thinking of parting ways with him and these rumors are more active when four time Ballon d’Or award winner is not performing as expected as it is happening at the moment. Everybody knows he is passing through a bad phase; perhaps he is nowhere near to his last year’ performance which is giving more fuel to all the trouble makers. When we are talking about star European footballers how can we forget English Premier League which is indeed the most exaggerated annual event in soccer world and one of its premier club Manchester City is claimed to be on Messi’s target, if latest rumor is to be believed. This is revealed by City forward Alvaro Negredo who says 26-year-old Argentine can move to England if he somehow gets bored at Primera Division. His statement and expectations look to be more hyperbolic than anywhere near to a reality coz Messi has even been a Barca gem who has until been associated with La Liga Champion throughout his professional career; hence it is completely wrong to expect anything else from this legendry soccer star.
Negredo is the same player who made a shift to England from Sevilla last summer and he looks to be enjoying his stay in central Europe, but whether Messi is willing to copy him is nowhere a possibility. Many times, these kinds of statements are intentionally made either to be in the media or just to be in the view of the world coz everything that attaches to Messi becomes a hot saleable item which could be the only reason for his bizarre story about highest goal scorer in one calendar year.
Spanish international gave an interview recently where he said, “I suppose so, it could happen. Maybe in two or five years he will get bored with La Liga, want a change and come over here. I could see someone like Messi coming to England and following players like David Silva, Juan Mata, Santi Cazorla, David de Gea and myself. He could play well in any league in the world.
“The Premier League is the best place to be for the world’s top stars. Having been here for a few months it is better than I thought it would be. Your expectations go up here.”
