It is very rare to see two priciest players of contemporary soccer playing pleasingly for same team; yes you guessed it right, we are talking about Spanish giant Real Madrid and its two steepest stones: Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo. These players are undoubtedly the biggest news makers these days and after their nominations for the Ballon d’Or this year, a comparison is quite obvious not only between them but also with their well-known arch rivals including Messi. When it is supposed that two high profile players can never play smoothly for a single team, these two players are proving this theory wrong and never found any misunderstanding among them. Though, Bale has not spent significant time on the field yet he has played sufficient matches with his all-time favorite player and still calls him the best forward in contemporary soccer. Like what is being happened at Barcelona where apparently a rivalry is being in the making between Messi and Neymar, Real is enjoying a friendly atmosphere inside its squad without any problem whatsoever, and Bale has accepted it openly that there is no conflict with his favorite striker, in fact, he praises his senior for helping him on and off the ground.
Many experts are calling it little early to predict their long term relations, but anyway, they both are feeling fine as of now and Bale wants Ronaldo to win this year’s Fifa prestigious award for his brilliant performance off late. When asked if he felt nervous while playing with Rolando, 24-year-old English midfielder replied, “I wasn’t nervous. It’s obviously great to meet a player of his caliber. Since I’ve been here he’s had nothing bad to say to me, he’s just given me encouragement every game, given me confidence. He has been sharing his first experiences when he first came here and they have really helped me along. He’s been absolutely brilliant.
“There is no rivalry at all. We get on very well. He’s helped me out a lot on and off the pitch. We’re enjoying playing together and I think that the goals and assists show that we’re playing well together.
“There’s still a lot more to come from us both and hopefully we can have a successful season by doing that.”
Since, FIFA has extended voting timeframe for Ballon d’Or this year and Ronaldo scored brilliantly in last few matches, it is very much likely that he can reclaim his second player of the year award and Bale would definitely be the first one to applaud his feat!
