Moyes eyes some good buys in January

December 1, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

Manchester United has always been living with a reputation to snatch its liking players no matter how costly they are, but in the last summer transfer window, this highly reputed club could not add too much of strength into their firing lineup and newly appointed manager was broadly held responsible for lack of negotiation skills. Upcoming winter transfer window could also be a repeat for United as David Moyes has admitted he will not rush for the players, but if he finds anyone matching his requirements he would love to bring him at Old Trafford. Notably, United could not start this league season with flying colors; perhaps they were once not in the top ten, but somehow, they are getting their momentum back and have almost reached among top four. Now, they are at eighth place and looking at the confidence level, they can pose a tough challenge in upcoming months to top teams, especially Arsenal who is having a dream run this season.

Moyes could only manage to bring Marouane Fellaini from his former club in last transfer window; hence everyone expects him to recover from his criticism and place some interesting bids for the players he failed last time. Actually, United’s former boss Sir Alex Ferguson has always been known for his negotiation skills and how to lure players to play for Manchester United, and that is why when defending league champions failed on number of occasions last time; everyone held new manager responsible for not making successful deals. Sidelining all the critic talks, Moyes said about his winter plans, “Only if the right players are available. They have to be able to fit into our squad. We would like to but there are no guarantees. If they are determined to hold on to him then he can’t be going anywhere. I have been asked this a lot because there are quite a few strike partnerships in the Premier League.

“There are some very good center forwards. As you would expect, we have got a partnership that can rival any other partnership.”

Next few games are going to be very competitive for The Red Devils where they have to clash with some of the top contenders of the season, including Tottenham that just crushed United’s arch rival Manchester City by a hammering 6-0 margin; hence 50-year-old Scottish football manager is counting on his rejuvenated squad for a good show. He added about the upcoming match, “It can vary. We know that no matter when you play Tottenham Hotspur, it will always be a hard game. The games against Manchester United have been good. It is one of these things; we are both coming off the back of European games as well. But we will go down there and try to win the game, as we always do.”
