Chelsea eyes Kurt Zouma

January 16, 2014 by 888Scoreonline

Chelsea has a long running reputation of targeting young and promising players during their teen age. We have seen how this optimistic club keeps its radar on rising stars of contemporary soccer, and following their this inherited approach, this North London club has now pointed its radar on 19-year-old center-half Kurt Zouma who currently plays for French association football club St Etienne. Though, his running contract does not allow him to shift right away, hence Chelsea think-tank is planning to bring him in London during summer transfer window. Zouma, who has already been on the aspiring list of many clubs for his playing style, confirmed that Jose Mourinho himself contacted him recently and discussed all the possibilities for such a switch. Though, he did not reveal the name of other clubs who were targeting him as well, but he specifically mentioned Serie A giant Inter Milan where he is equally biased to make a shift. He talked about his future plans during an interview where he disclosed all these ‘secret’ information about his professional career, he said, “A phone call from Mourinho? It is true, there was contact a month ago.

“At first I thought it was a joke. When a great man like Jose Mourinho contacts a small player like Kurt Zouma, that offers great pride. If I was told to join Chelsea, I would go immediately. It will be down to the coach, though, to make the call.”

If such a deal takes place, this could be a milestone in his career where he would jump directly to an internationally recognized league right in the starting of his career, and that is why he does not want to let this opportunity go away easily. He wants to keep this offer alive until summer comes in, hence he is praising former Everton manager so much and updating media what he said during his communication with him. Similarly, he also compared playing culture in England to that of Italy and showed his parallel interest in joining Milan. He said, “In Italy it is much more tactical. That helps you to improve a lot. In England it is much more physical.

“But I won’t necessarily make a decision based on the league. It will depend on how much I will play, the coach and the group. I will take my time. I want a change. That is the agreement we have. I am playing my third season in Ligue 1 and it is the right time to go somewhere else. Going abroad will be make or break, but that is a risk worth taking.”
