Every soccer team is a perfect combination of several minds and each of them has some kind of specialty over others that is why they made up a perfect squad together, but when any one of them starts feeling an ignorance, he has to either leave the job of ask for an importance in all decision making process if it suits him. Newcastle United Football Club is one such club who has several minds managing its affairs from the top and 67-year-old Joe Kinnear has been just the one name, but surprisingly, he left the job again after facing several criticisms from manager Alan Pardew for not giving importance to club related activities especially as far recruitments of new players is concerned. Though, he was serving the English club as director of football since last eight months, but his differences with manager have been in the public domain throughout his short stay at Darsley Park. It was his second spell with Newcastle as he has already been with them as manager from September 2008 to February 2009 until he suffered from severe heart related problems. This is not the first time, any high rank officer has leveled such allegations over another as it has already happened twice with Newcastle, but this time, manager has clearly said, if he would have been consulted before every new appointment, situation would have certainly different.
This is also a fact that Irish mind has failed to balance his team after some exits in January, like they did not recoup the loss of midfielder Yohan Cabaye who was sold to PSG just few days ago, in fact, if we look at the overall additions by Kinnear, there were just two players he added to the squad. Another controversy that is associated with him was his lack of coordination with other high ranks officers including the incident when managing director Derek Llambias had to resign off his duties immediately after his arrival.
Alan Shearer, a former ace, said he has always a doubt over his ability to manage a team, what he said about him was, “It was a strange appointment in the first place. When you sell your best player three days before the transfer deadline you have to have a plan. Maybe him resigning is a way of saying he didn’t do his job, but I’m not sure what his job was anyway. Saturday’s defeat against Sunderland was as poor a performance as I’ve seen for a long time. They were lucky it was only 3-0.”
