If anyone is asked about the team having most upside downs in any EPL season, it would surely be Liverpool. This is probably be the only team to enjoy the top leaderboard position during the initial phase but then starts falling on expectations and downgraded by colleagues in no time. Even many experts had said when they were on the top and everyone overstated them to be the title winner that they need to remain there for couple of months especially during March, otherwise, they have done this in the past but always lost their rhythm in the middle. Right now, they are good eight points behind of the Arsenal, the topper on the chart, but ever bigger concern is Manchester City and Chelsea who are in excellent form these days. Manager Brendan Rodgers is also not very optimistic about their chance for the title; however, being associated with the Reds, he sees full potential to revive his team even at this stage. They drew last match with West Brom and now preparing to face Arsenal over weekend; hence it is the right time to show best of their talent if they want to survive on the top.
According to Rodgers, even if they do not triumph over league trophy, they are happy to qualify for the Champions league; therefore there is no need to panic if they are not among the top four on the league leaderboard. Taking about their title chance, he indirectly expressed his doubt and said, “I think for us, as a team, it’s too early for that. I was at the Manchester City-Chelsea game the other night and I look at the squads they have, which they have built up over the last few years, and it’s very difficult for us even though we have competed right the way through the season. So, I wouldn’t say for us this year, no. We wouldn’t be challengers for it.”
Actually, Premier League has now become a trendy agenda across every sports debate and everybody seems to be talking about his favorites and there are millions of fans who still want to see Reds on the top. Talking about how high they can surge this season, Irish football manager said, “Will we play a part in it? Yes, we will, because we are professional and we want to fight to finish as high as we possibly can.
“We look it and there are six points between us and Chelsea, so there is still a lot to play for and we will be fighting right until the very end. But, if I’m asked to give an honest answer, I’d probably say that this year is too soon for us.”
