After days of curiosity and excitement, Manchester City finally triumph the Premier League title – their second in three years. Their title hopes were fluctuating like a pendulum since last one week coz of their neck to neck score fight with other teams especially Liverpool, but Samir Nasri and Vincent Kompany ensured that this year belongs to them. City won the last game of the year with a comfortable 2-0 margin and both scorers of the game proved why they have been ruling the English season this year. Against all the media hypes off late, West Ham could not offer them any resistance and Pellegrini side easily registered a win. Before the match could begin, both Liverpool and Manchester City were having almost a close fight, though, City had two extra points to Gerrard side, but a defeat could still dent their title hope after Liverpool victory against Newcastle. The whole world seemed to gazing at each move of the ball and impressively City commanded both halves of the game and scored one goal in each. Samir Nasri was the first one to take the lead in thirty ninth minute when his low shot from 20 yards beat West Ham keeper Adrian. Vincent Kompany’s close range shot added one more goal to convince their win in the forty ninth minute.
Though, the whole crowd was mad about the game, but by and large, it was City who was expected to win the game coz of the title hope. Last week, West Ham manager promised to offer their rivals a good fight with some impressive additions to the side, but all his claims proved wrong and he could not do more than what he did to Eastlands and Aston Villa in the midweek. Arithmetically, City needed just a draw to win the title, but manager Pellegrini denied of playing any defensive game and promised they would win both the game and title comprehensively. The 26-year-old French international Samir Nasri not only won the man of the match but also became the scorer of goal of the match. If we look at City performance in last couple of years, they have emerged to be the most stable performer among all with two titles and one time runner up in last three years.
Apart from City and Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are other two who are qualified for the Championship league next year and Manchester United is the noticeable name who would miss the European tour next year. Everyone is free from Premier League pressure now; hence we can now look forward for the FIFA world cup in Brazil!
