Manchester City and PSG found violating FFP guidelines

April 29, 2014 by 888Scoreonline

It has long been supposed that no matter how many clubs are found breaching most talked about FFP rules, no one would finally be sanctioned – strictly, but this assumption is fast proving to be a wrong one – at least latest developments over the violating clubs hint this. Though, there are many clubs who are in the list of violating sides, but two of them are more noticeable than others thanks to their status in soccer fraternity and these two are league side Manchester City and French giant PSG. Both these sides are found guilty of not following any of the cost controlling measures, especially as far their under-20 team is concerned, hence FIFA has apparently offered them two choices: either accept the sanction or agree over a settlement with undisclosed terms. Accordingly the settlement agreement has been sent to both the sides to have a look and think upon before deciding over the future course of action. Knowingly, UEFA President has already said that they will not ban any side this year which strongly suggests convicted sides would only be slapped with monetary fines along with a restriction to spend more than a specified limit over new players.

According to a recent statement from UEFA President Michel Platini, they are not thinking of restricting any side to impart in next year’s Championship league if it has not crossed the 45m euros loss in the last two years. FFP guidelines ask every breaching side to pick any of the two options being offered from the governing body’s den and when if they fail to do so, pending cases are escalated to adjudicatory panel to take the final note. Practically, this season would be like a warn up season for FFP violating sides where they would apparently be warned with some monetary ban, but in the next year, every Championship league side would face the risk of being expelled from European event if they continue breaching cost controlling guidelines,

Michel Platini also favors this formula, therefore he said, “What I think is going to happen are measures over Champions League squads next season. Perhaps a salary cap or limiting the number of eligible players in the squads, perhaps even making a new signings ineligible for the Champions League squad next year.”

As far City and PSG are concerned, no one has said anything about how they would tackle these FFP violations and no one expect them to admit any money overthrowing charge either, so a tough road is ahead for governing bodies!
