Money seems to have lost its charm; it holds at least true in soccer that is why every other day records break in term of dictating who is the highest paid soccer player. Ronaldo, the Real legend, enjoyed the status of being the priciest player for many years and then Bale, another Real starlet, broke his record and become the highest ever paid soccer pro. Now, there is another such record in the making though not that big but certainly a mammoth one in its own category. Yes, we are talking about a possible deal between League side Chelsea and PSG for 27-year-old Brazilian defender David Luiz. According to the reports in the media, both the high profile sides have been in talks for some time now over the possible switch of Brazilian and more importantly the amount that is being rumored to be involved in the deal is a mammoth forty to fifty million – highest for any defender till date. Though, the talks are just in initial stage and most probably both the sides would tie in a bond in the summer transfer window – possibly on June 10th. More details are not yet revealed by any of the clubs but close sources say amount being asked by The Blues is for a four year contract plus one additional if PSG later desire.
Both the sides issued their stand over the deal via their official webpages: Chelsea said, “Chelsea Football Club and Paris Saint-Germain have agreed terms for the transfer of David Luiz to the French club. The move is now subject to David Luiz agreeing personal terms with PSG and passing a medical examination.”
Similarly, Ligue 1 side also informed about their growing interest in the Brazilian, they said, “To respond to the desire of the player to prepare and play the World Cup in his own country in the best conditions possible, the will of the two clubs and of David Luiz was to come to an agreement as quickly as possible between Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, on the one hand, and between the Parisian club and the player on the other in order to make the transfer official as soon as the transfer window opens.”
This deal is being taken as the first most exaggerated signing by German powerhouse after last domestic tourney, in fact, this is one of the many upcoming high profile signings during summer transfer window; you just wait and watch!
