Amid rumors prevailing in the air, one more player issues his denial on the transfer stories being run by some media houses since last few days. Yes, we are talking about Manchester City in-form midfielder, 31-year-old Yaya Touré, who had recently been in mess with the club for different reasons; he cooled down all the burning stories that he could end his contract with The Blues that is going to expire in 2017. Notably, he criticized his bosses on more than one occasion in last few months, first one was when he alleged his bosses for not celebrating his thirty first birthday in a grand style while another apparent incident was when he condemned club decision to not allow him leave to take care of his ill brother who later died of cancer at the age of 28. After these incidents, it was largely assumed that he would surely end his contract with the Sky Blues, but on the contrary, he refused to leave the side and said, he would not only honor his current contract but would also like to play for the club as long as possible. Notably, he has been in terrific form for the premier league side with twenty goals to his name, in fact his agent once blamed his color for not getting what he actually deserves.
Though, no confirmation or denial about his future has been issued by the bosses but Ivory Coast international made his intentions clear when he said in an interview that “The fans have always been good to me, they’ve always been good to my family. I want to stay. I will always honour my contract. I don’t think about all this speculation. It’s a big pleasure to stay and enjoy the next season.
“Everything is fine now. There was a lot of speculation, you know. I think sometimes it’s quite disappointing. I need to do something for the fans, it’s important to let them know. They’ve done a lot for me. The team is preparing well and we will try to win again next season.”
His agent Dimitri Seluk further sealed his statement by adding, “I would like to say Yaya will stay at City. He won’t go to any club. Everybody can stop speculation about this.
“Yaya will stay at Manchester City 100 percent. He has a contract, he will work very hard and I hope this season he will be the best player in England.”
