Balotelli completes formalities for Liverpool switch

August 26, 2014 by 888Scoreonline

After lots of ifs and buts, controversial Italian forward Mario Balotelli has finalized a three years contract with Liverpool, as close club sources have revealed. The news of their possible linkup came into spotlight last week and has since been in the discussion across soccer fraternity not because there is anything special about former AC Milan forward but coz of Balotelli’s sudden desire to play in England again after a debacle exit from Manchester City last year. This is noteworthy that he is the same man who said lots of negative things about English soccer when left the City and now, in less than two years, he is back to the place he used to hate the most – this is magic of soccer! The amount both the sides have agreed upon is sixteen million pounds for a three year contract with an extension clause if he performs well on his second English tour in two years. He went through two separate medical tests on Friday and Saturday and only after getting a negative report therein Brendan Rodgers made his appointment final.

Since, 24-year-old Italian has ever been more famous for his controversies than what he has done actually on the field, yet Liverpool took the chance just looking at his record playing for Serie A club where he scored maximum number of goals than any other player during his around one year old tenure, though Milan was apparently fed up of his nasty acts both inside and outside the field hence decided to better part its ways. Still, Liverpool can always use the backup Samuel Eto’o if Balotelli fails to live up with the expectations. Since, former City man has left for his home State after medical tests, he is supposed to come back at Anfield for other formalities on Monday or Tuesday and then he would officially be announced as a Liverpool player.

This transfer is being taken as the demotion of high profile problem maker since he was getting around a 160000 pounds weekly salary at Milan and under his new contract he would be getting around 100000 pounds – a significant drop from the last job. Denying any different treatment or any good behavior clause in Balotelli new contract, his agent Mino Raiola said, ‘Mario will not have a different contract to the other Liverpool players. He will have to follow the code of conduct of the club, like all the others.”
