English and Spanish sides are infamous for snatching players of their choice no matter whether their current bosses want to release their promising players or not and English clubs specifically throw luring bounties to trap the opponents. Manchester United, one of the biggest English sides, has ever been the aspiring destination for young players especially those who are playing for rather small sides therefore whether any rumor spreads in the media about such player’s linkup with Manchester’s giant, it is assumed that such transfer would happen. Italian club Roma’s midfielder Kevin Strootman is the player who had been on the radar of United Dutch manager for a possible switch this January. But close Roma sources have been denying any such move right from the beginning. Even now, few Italian media sources have flashed the report about the serious talks between two sides for 24-year-old amid disagreement over his salary. Notably, Strootman had been suffering from a serious knee ligament injury that unable him play in most of the season games and now when he is reportedly fit to play again, Roma is trying to pretend they need him more than anyone else.
Roma boss Rudi Garcia even said they are looking to sign more players this winter along with keeping their promising assets in-tact. Replying the curious media guys about Strootman future at Stadio Olimpico, he blithely said, “The biggest signing of January? Iturbe and Strootman. With Kevin, we obviously knew he had such a bad injury that it would take him time to get back to 100 percent. He’ll basically only have half a season, but fortunately we play less games in the first half of the campaign.
“The more he trains, the more he is improving. For Kevin, the break was important, even in a mental sense to get back to training with a freshness. Gradually, we’ll see whether he is 100 percent, but he is getting back to it in training. As for Manuel, he took time to adapt at first, but I have total confidence in him. He always gives everything in training, which is a fundamental quality which you need to be successful and I’m sure he’ll do that with us.”
Those, who know Gaal well, aware about the fact that he has ever had Strootman in his wish-list right from the day he joined the English giant but coz of the apparent injury he did not yet initiate the transfer talks. Anyway, it would be cleared in new few days whether former Barcelona boss can bring the Italian player into Old Trafford!
