Football experts along with Pundits sometime become the nightmare for the side they love the most and this happens most in England where everyone is more sensitive than he should be. That is why whenever anything untoward happens to any big league side, pundits and experts collectivity start lambasting everything that did not go in their favor. Chelsea’s exit from Championship league is not a news now, in fact, severe criticism of the Blues from every corner is also not a news yet Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness’ comment about Jose Mourinho went viral and still in the headlines. Souness openly criticized the behavior shown by the Stamford Bridge side during Champions League last-16 exit game to PSG and Portuguese also answered his allegations in his own style. Souness went so desperate that he did not mind calling Blues men ‘pathetic’ and former Everton manager a ‘frustrated man.’ What Mourinho had said reacting former Scottish manager’s comment was, “The difference between me and Souness is this — Souness as a player, up there. Jose Mourinho as a player, down here. Jose Mourinho as a manager, up here. Souness as a manager, down there. With another difference: I was not a frustrated man because I was not a top player. He is clearly a frustrated man.”
Now, 61-year-old has again issued another firing statement about the Blues and said, “He had his say about me at his news conference on Friday and he is entitled to his opinion, but it won’t change mine. When he reflects on what went wrong against PSG and addresses it, I hope — yet doubt — that will include the obsession with gamesmanship.
“It seemed more important to Chelsea than getting on the ball and taking on PSG in a game of football, which they were more than capable of winning. They are a far better team than they showed. Getting the opposition booked by their excessive reaction to fouls became their priority. I was angered and saddened by that approach.”
Midfielder Nemanja Matic who had to be sent off for shoving Burnley’s Ashley Barnes last month and Chelsea manager called it a ‘criminal’ offence done by the referees, also explains his views about the incident and said, “Of course my reaction was not good, but this reaction was because I thought that I broke a leg. I am a happy man because I can walk.”
