Louis van Gaal seems to be hyper active these days in his affords to overhaul every field placement Manchester United has been week in last year. He brought in Southampton 25-year-old midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin into his side to strengthen their center positions. Although, the deal was in talk for quite some time now but there were minor issues regarding salary of the Frenchman but finally everything agreed upon and St Mary’s side settled £25m fee for Schneiderlin on Sunday for a four year contract with a clause to extend it by one more year if club wants to. For now, Schneiderlin is required to go through medical tests and negotiations regarding his personal terms which should not be a big concern for the Dutchman. If we look at Man Utd summer signings especially after arrival of Germany captain Bastian Schweinsteiger, they are on the edge of crossing £80 million which could create a problem for their financial think-tank since FFPs may not allow them spend that much amount looking at their recent violations to the financial controlling norms.
Anyways, once Schneiderlin clears all formalities he will join the Red Devils immediately on their preseason tour to the U.S. Clarifying his decision to sign the French playmaker, Van Gaal said on club official website, “Morgan is a very talented player with great energy and ability. His skills will complement the players that we already have and I am very pleased that we have been able to complete this deal before the tour to the United States. That training camp will be very important in our preparations for the new season and gives Morgan and the other players a chance to show our fans what they can achieve together.”
Similarly, new entrant also shared his joy on being associated with one of the biggest soccer brands, he said, “I am delighted to be a Manchester United player. Once I learned that United were interested in signing me, it was a very easy decision to make.
“I have enjoyed seven very happy years with Southampton and it’s a club that will always be in my heart. But the chance to be part of this squad to help this great club be successful was too good to miss. I’m excited to be starting that journey on our trip to the USA. I know what Manchester United means to fans all over the world and I’m looking forward to experiencing that.”
