Don’t right off City; Fernandinho says recalling 2012 and 2014 Premier League seasons

March 12, 2016 by 888Scoreonline

Manchester City has always been the side no one can easily rule out at least in English premier league and this year when this Manchester giant looks rather in cold form, everyone wants to rule them out for title hope but there are few loyal City fans who still believe their side is capable of turning around the things. The 30-year-old midfielder Fernandinho is one such player who says ten points difference from board topper Leicester City is not that much they can’t get rid of. Etihad side is sitting at number four on the table with a strong competition from West Ham for a Championship league qualification next year and if we practically look at their chance to sustain a ranking among top two especially when just five or six games remaining in the season, it looks almost impossible. Anyways, supporting his claim Fernandinho recalls City’s 2012 form when they won last six games and clinched the title. Not only that 2014 was the another season when they changed the board arithmetic in last few games, hence this could be the another season for them to show their pressure strength in front of the world and experienced Brazilian is just hopeful to repeat the magical record again.

He specifically warned other teams not to right off them as easily and said, “I think this would be a big mistake. We have great players and a great manager and we’re going to put our efforts into the games we have left to play. We want to start now with the next game against Norwich and then on the derby. After that we will see what happens. We want to gain more confidence and when players return from injury they will make our squad even stronger.

“This season we have been a little more inconsistent. We have dropped some important points at home and this has made the difference to keep us off the top of the table. But there are still two months to go and 10 games to play and with our best form maybe we can be back at the top of the table soon. The team is one of the best in the league. We have a great squad with great players but we have to prove that on the pitch. Unfortunately we haven’t done that up to now. I hope the next two months — the last 10 games — we can prove that on the pitch and not just talking.”
