Every manager wants to serve a side of his liking for a longer possible time without being under pressure to deliver overnight and rising competition in soccer has made this sport so demanding that there are only few managers who could live at their dream sides for an exceptional period of time. If we talk about English club Chelsea, it has always been one of the most preferred for Jose Mourinho and for that reason he agreed to serve the Stamford Bridge side on his second term after infamous exit during his first spell. But his second spell could not enlarge his glorious career as well and he had to face an unexpected sacking after he failed miserably to defend his league title. In fact, his side became the only side in many years who is not even near to the top four ranking. Anyways, 53-year-old Portuguese was blamed for devastating form of North Londoners and received severe criticisms for not able to copy his last season for.
Now, when this high profile soccer mind is available to be hired, there are many sides who are after him including Manchester United who want him to replace another underperforming boss Van Gaal, but is Mourinho also keen to join the Red Devils – looks possible. Talking about his next destination and if next assignment should offer him some sense of liberty to use his ideas to bring an overall change in any club’s outlook, former Everton boss said, “I’ll take my ideas to where they are wanted. I need to feel comfortable and I like to be where I am truly wanted. I want to work in a club with responsibilities, I want to work in a club with a difficult league, where there are no easy targets. Within these possibilities, there are not many options for me. Calmly, we will decide.”
And reacting over his summer plans and if he is joining the Manchester side, he replied, “I can almost guarantee that I’ll be working this summer. I’ve had good offers on the table, but I do not know where I am going. After a few months to recharge my batteries, I’ll be ready to go with everything I have to give.
“It’s a matter of thinking, to come to a good decision and deciding it. In the summer, at the end of the season, everyone will know what my next club will be.”
