Wenger readies for an aggressive summer transfer window for Arsenal

April 16, 2016 by 888Scoreonline

Although, this English premier league season has grossly been successful for Arsenal, yet many experts are calling it their failure for not winning the league title since they had the best chance to end their long running title drought. In fact, if we look at what team manager Arsene Wenger has to say about the available players and if he can win them any title in upcoming tourneys, surprisingly, this 66-year-old longest serving French manager has, for the first time, accepted Gunners are having lack of good talent who could win them titles in the field. Actually, Wenger issued this statement keeping in mind upcoming summer transfer window and hints how aggressive he is going to be as far signing of new players is concerned. This is a surprising change in Wenger strategy since he was possibly the only manager not to bring any outfield player last summer and if he is changing his mind now, it means, he must be having some serious issues with his players who failed to overcome Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City despite having a much better side on paper.

Talking about the possible team composition in upcoming summer and how he compares his side to other two among the top three on the board, Frenchman said, “If you look now at the top three, you see that the top three teams have not changed their team a lot. We have to strengthen our squad. But despite the money the English clubs will have, it’s not obvious find the players who will strengthen the squad. We will of course work very hard to do that, and we are already working, but we have to find the players. It’s not easy.”

The bigger question now arises is who is in his aspiring list and answer is being kept secret, however, few media houses have revealed few names who could join the Emirate side next season and it includes, “Granit Xhaka, with Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky, and Mathieu Flamini whose contract are expiring this summer. Adding about any release of the players especially Mohamed Elneny who was brought in from Basel this January, Wenger said, “I will judge him until the end of the season, but what is for sure is that he’s had a big impact. Much bigger than expected. Because usually a guy who comes in, it takes him a few months to adapt. And him and Iwobi I think had a big impact recently in the quality of our game.”
