Pep Guardiola would transform Manchester City into one of the strongest in Europe: Bale

May 6, 2016 by 888Scoreonline

Whenever a new manager joins a new side, especially an English club, it is customary he will receive lots of confident wishes for his success from his former colleagues and players who have been his admirers and Manchester City is one such side who is set to replace its head coach with 45-year-old Spanish Pep Guardiola and guess he is getting wishes for his success from Barcelona players whom he used to mentor during his Camp Nou regime. Bale, who has been one of his favorite players, is the first one to say current Bayern Munich manager would bring City dominance back in European soccer. Actually, Manchester City failed to live up to the expectations this English as well European season, hence it was expected bosses at the helm would look for an alternate for the top post and after Guardiola showed interest in the job, it was conformed he would land on the Manchester soil as manager for the first time in his career.

Manchester City’s last Champions league semifinal return leg was the one game that made it sure Manuel Pellegrini would have to go earlier than expected coz this is possibly the first season, City failed to enter into the finals of Champions League although they lost on aggregated with just one goal but it was grossly their fault not to restrict Real’s forward line in the second leg semis. Talking about the future of City under Guardiola mentorship and if Etihad side would succeed under new boss, Bale said, “I’m sure he will. He’s a world-class coach, he’s done well wherever he’s gone. I think experience probably told a lot here and over the two legs. We had a lot of experience of being in the semifinals and we did a very professional job.

“I think it’s difficult as it’s a new occasion to them. They haven’t been in this position before and it’s never easy in these games. We limited them. The reason they didn’t have chances is because we did such a good job on them.”

Adding about the margin of defeat to Real in the second leg of championship semifinal; he furthered, “At 1-0 they always had a chance but if they’d thrown everything and we’d gone down the other end and nicked another goal, as we’re good on the counter-attack, it would have been game, set and match.

“I guess you could say they could have thrown a little bit more but they didn’t.”
