Cahill is upset with Roberto Di Matteo’s Rotational Policy

October 29, 2012 by 888Scoreonline

Gary Cahill

Chelsea and England’s central defender Gary Cahill has now said in the public about his dissatisfaction about Chelsea’s manager Di Matteo’s rotational policy to rest some of the top players and rotate other players in place of resting players. However, his biggest concern is about his minimal time spent on the field coz of this rotational policy. Notably, Matteo has recently been rotating three players to make a change in starting lineup, though two of those three players were always in the starting squad. Accordingly, David Luiz, Gary Cahill, and John Terry were rotating one by one, but after Terry’s four matches’ suspension, Luiz and Cahill were supposed to get more exposer this season. But on the contrary, Cahill could only participate in few matches in current premium league. On the whole, Cahill played only ten matches in last premier league despite his €8.4 million price tag that Chelsea paid to Bolton Wanderers in January for his transfer.

Apart from league matches, he is also finding himself on the backside of other players, like Phil Jagielka and Joleon Lescott in England’s national team selection as well. Perhaps, a miss from national squad is probably the most annoying to him at the moment. He told about his frustration in an interview given to Sunday Mirror and said, “It has been frustrating for me at times this season, I’m not going to lie – like on Tuesday night in the Champions League, the rotating, I think you can accept it if you are playing the same amount of games as everybody else. That’s the only way you can come to terms with it.”

Chelsea’s next clash is on Sunday with Manchester United and Cahill is expected to feature in this match, and his current state of mind would probably be reflected through his performance. Brazilian David Luiz is supposed to partner him on Sunday, and as he said, he has already made up a good relation with Luiz. Since Terry is still suspended, these two players can play other matches as well. On his partnership with Terry or Luiz, he said, “It seems to have gone well. But it’s gone well whatever pairings have been put out. I’ve done well with JT or David. I enjoy playing with both.”

Anyways, in the backdrop of uncertainty, any player can lose his form, but hopefully, Cahill will perform without being influenced by anything happening to him out of the field.
