There have ever been rumors in the air suggesting the link between any player to his former side especially if he is in good from and this media made blunder now seems to be covering Diego Costa aggressively. Yes, you guessed it right, over the past few months Chelsea player Costa is being linked with his former side Atletico Madrid, in fact, Spanish side has itself announced publically that they are close to seal a deal with their former player to bring him back into the Spanish capital despite the fact that Stamford Bridge based club has never accepted Atletico claims. Now, Blues boss Antonio Conte denies to have any truth behind these rumors and calls Diego Costa is of ‘fundamental importance’ to Chelsea hence they can’t think of releasing him to any side. However, if we rely on Spanish media, Costa has himself initiated his transfer request to the Chelsea boss to faster his move back to the Vicente Calderon, and, later, Atletico president Enrique Cerezo said they are very close to sign a deal with the forward.
Talking about the issue Conte clearly dismissed the possibility of Costa leaving Stamford Bridge this summer in a press meet ahead of Chelsea’s friendly clash with WAC RZ Pellets on Wednesday, he said, “Diego is our player. He is a fantastic player, a player with a fundamental importance and there is no problem. He stays with us, he is working very hard, he is very happy to work with his teammates and with me in the new idea of football. He is a Chelsea player. He is an important player, a very strong player, one of the best in the world, and I am sure when he goes into our ideas he will score a lot of goals for us.”
Adding about other players including Zouma who just recovered off a serious knee injury he sustained back in February, he said, “Today (Zouma) started the aerobic work for the first time. When we have a very strong situation, no. We wait because we must respect the right time for him. Now we are preparing for him to go and train when there aren’t very strong situations. He has also started to play our idea of football when we have the ball, and also without the ball.
“We know he is recovering but I know he needs more time to recover. It’s important we don’t push him. I had the same injury and I know from experience when the player is ready to go.”
