Theo Walcott’s future at Arsenal seems to be dancing in last few months; coz there was no confirmed news about how he will continue his career once his current contract with Arsenal expires at the end of current season. As far Arsenal is concerned, Arsène Wenger has now confirmed that they will not sell him in coming transfer window in January. If they do not sell him; they will lose their invested amount, coz next season; he will be a free agent and also free to sing up with any club of his choice. Everybody knows, earlier in August, Arsenal offered Walcott £75,000 per week for a new five year’s contract which he rejected, coz he then felt this amount was too stumpy for him. There was other news of him to go to Manchester United or Liverpool if current contract negotiations fail. His current five years contract with Arsenal expires on 30 June, and as far new contract’s possibilities are concerned; he is reportedly demanding somewhere around £100,000 a week for next five year’s contract which does not seem to be comfortable with Arsenal.
When Wenger was asked about Walcott’s possible sale in January, he clearly said ‘No,’ and when he was asked if they don’t sell him they can lose him for nothing if there happens to be no contract, he then replied, “We continue in a positive way. I told you many times we have until the end of December to sort this out.” One of the Theo teammates Jack Wilshere also ruled out any possibility of him to leave Emirates Stadium. He said, “He is an English lad and great to have around the dressing room. But that is up to him, the boss and the board. They are going to do whatever they are going to do. I hope he signs. We all know what Theo brings to the team. He has got pace, he can go behind and his movement and timing of the runs is probably the best around. He play anywhere – up front, right, left, central. He wants to play down the middle, so I think he will get his chance – he will just have to be patient.”
At the moment, Theo Walcott is in great form, perhaps he assisted Per Mertesacker’s opening goal along with firing one goal by himself in last Arsenal’s 5-2 win over Tottenham. So, it is very much likely that there will be an agreement between Arsenal and Theo before his contract expires in mid-2013.
