Phil Jones, a twenty year old England’s youngster who is known for his attacking style of play, has suffered many injuries in a recent past. Despite risking his body vulnerable to a probable major injury, Phil Jones is in no mood to change his style of play irrespective of the fact that it can cost him a major blow someday. Manchester United’s rising young star has had a nightmare season since the beginning of this year; perhaps he could only play his first match against Galatasaray last Tuesday. Jones has had many injuries that made him sidelined for most part of the season; including his back injury and knee problem that cost him miss preseason and most of the training sessions. The English starlet made his impressive impact when he showcased his all-round performance as both defender and midfielder. Moreover, his high mounting £16m price tag also pressurizes him to be made available for the Reds. Recently, he seems to be joining a Jim to recover from his injuries faster, and rightly so; he made his first match appearance this season at last.
“It is good to be back. I am delighted to get 90 minutes under my belt. I feel good,” Jones said after the match on Tuesday.
“I am sick and tired of watching the lads on TV when I have been injured. They have travelled and I have stayed at home so it is just great to be back.
“It has been very difficult. I was in and out of the team in the second half of last season. I couldn’t get a run of games together, which was down to the fact I was getting little niggles here and there. I couldn’t get match fit. I picked up some pretty horrid injuries. It has not been the best five or six months for me but I am delighted to be back now.
“Hopefully, now I can stake a claim for the team again.”
Actually, Jones joined Manchester City last season from Blackburn, and he since been facing persistent injuries. Many blame his style of aggressive play for these injuries, while on the other hand; his style of play is also being likened by some, like Marvel Bryan Robson, the once captain of Manchester City. Moreover, it was his attacking gaming approach that made him shift to Old Trafford at a hefty price tag. For now, let us hope he will remain available for the rest of the season.
