Soccer is a game of passion; perhaps it is like any other game where a player is known by his performances. Here too, if a player performs well for, let say, two weeks, he becomes in the limelight and every popular club tries to sign him up. Colombian hotshot, 26-year old Radamel Falcao, has always been known for his lighting striking skills and he keeps proving it every now and then. Last few days were belonged to Barca’s star Messi and his world record, but despite the glory of Messi, Falcao stunned the world by his excellent power play in the match between his club Atletico Madrid and Deportivo La Coruna. Atletico Madrid crushed La Coruna by 6-0 and more importantly, it was Falcao who made the headlines by scoring five goals in a game. This is one of the finest preferences in soccer we have ever seen in recent time; even Messi could only match this scoring number in one match against Bayer Leverkusen in March 2012.
Actually, Falcao is the next generation of soccer players who looks promising to break many records including scoring 90 goals in a calendar year. So, after showing his strength, Falcao is in the target list of many big paying clubs, like Chelsea, Manchester City, or even Real Madrid. Madrid boss was recently seen joking about him in an awards ceremony where he recalled his offer given to Zinedine Zidane and joked to do the same with Falcao. But, anyhow, King of the Europa League is in no mood to leave Atletico Madrid now. Moreover, he has three more years in his current contract with Atletico. While asking about is proposed transfer, he said, “I am enjoying myself here. I have a three-year contract with Atletico. I dreamed of doing this, but I didn’t know if I could. It has exceeded my expectations. I’m very comfortable here. It also helps a lot that we speak the same language. The Spanish, like Latinos, are very happy and I am grateful I can live here.”
So, looking at his intensions to remain with his much liked club, Chelsea or Manchester City or even Florentino Perez will have to wait for a while before they could actually have him in their final squad. His strike rate makes him one of the strongest contenders to set and break many records. You just keep a watch o him!
