English FA to Introduce Education to Eradicate Racism

December 13, 2012 by 888Scoreonline

If you are a close follower of English soccer, you would have a known to almost tens of different ways suggested by many legendry soccer officials, ex-players, and clubs to counter racism, but none of them seems to be perfect to English FA, hence they are now trying to introduce a compulsory educational program to be participated by every professional football player, club official, and all foreign players who play in various English leagues. The objective is simple, to make them aware of all the possible effects of using or saying anything not permitted on English soil. Last few months brought English soccer at a place where everyone is presuming that racism cannot be eradicated from the system. While, on the other side, according to many legendry soccer pros, educational system will also not work coz they are not teenagers who don’t know anything; perhaps they are very much professionals who understand the impact of ‘certain words’ in a crucial time.

For the time being, compulsory cultural lessons regarding discrimination are soon be a reality in English soccer where everyone has to impart in these lessons to know all the inside outs of English FA rules and regulations about racism. Gordon Taylor, PFA chief executive, said recently, “Up until now we have had cultural awareness courses for our apprentices and the plan now is to extend these to senior players and coaches, including those coming from overseas. We want to make sure there is no misunderstanding with regards to the rules and regulations on discrimination.”

Two of the high profile racial cases were happened in last few months, and later; there were some small incidents where home crowd showed retaliation of losing a game and offered some visual postures on visiting teams. But now, English FA finally want to make these incidents a history. Even if the measures look promising, but in reality; their impact will only be visible after few seasons. So, you can’t expect an overnight change in the system. Until then, it is up to the players how they control their emotions when they meet their arch rivals on the field. Chelsea’s complaint of racial abuses is well known to everyone, so it is also the complainant who needs to be clean as far his irrational complaint is concerned. Precisely, a hefty fine and few matches’ suspension is more than enough to remove racism, as per some ex English legendry players.
