It is quite normal in soccer fraternity that if a player has been laid out for a long period of time, rumors start prevailing suggesting his probable transfer to various clubs. In case of Barca’s David Villa, similar theory goes on when he returned after almost nine months coz of his knee injury, and in his absence, many speculated about his probable transfer to either his old club Valencia or any of the other interested clubs. Now, January transfer window is coming nearer, so speculations about his transfer have also been heated up. Out of various offers, he reportedly has in his kitty; Arsenal interest is more surprising and looks happening. Everybody knows that Arsene Wenger is a great fan of Spanish international ever since the days when he was not even associated with Barcelona. Secondly, atmosphere in the team has changed considerably for the striker in Tito Vilanova’s mentorship. If there would still be Pep Guardiola reign, chances of Villa to even think about leaving Catalan giants would be zero.
The change came after Villa’s visibly confrontation with star Messi right in the field, however, they both refused to have any differences later, but it is also true that Villa is finding very difficult now to secure his permanent place in A-team, hence his January transfer looks even more convincing. Now, when rumors about his loan transfer to Arsenal came in the media, Barca’s director of football, Andoni Zubizarreta, made it clear that they are not interested in selling either of their star players, including Villa, even if he could not being a part of regular A-Team. He said to a sport’s channel, “In January we will keep Villa and it is important to remember that Barcelona is a club that habitually does not accept offers for star players in January.
“David is a player that brings goals and intensity to the team.
“Now he has recovered from a serious injury I believe that he is offering a good level on the field.
“It is normal that big players desire to play and this is perfect for the competition in the squad.” Zubizarreta is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.”
Facts wise, 31 year old striker has not played even a single match since mid-November, despite, player is in no mood to say anything about his recent ignorance by the selectors, or his recent confrontation with either Messi or new manager, coz Villa still believes whatever he has today is all coz of Blaugranian club; hence he is happy if Barca either transfers him on loan or keeps him under its belt.
