We just saw the memorable soccer world cup in Brazil and it’s time now to expect similar entertainment from Euro 2016 which is in its qualification stage. Expectedly, every team and player seem to be getting influenced with their world cup performances and when it comes to be inspired from the Brazilian event, how can one forget to copy Germans who undisputedly ruled the mega soccer event in June? Club football has always had one advantage and that is it comprises players from all over the world hence whenever a player is called for international duty by his national side, he carries the rich experience of being with other stars who belong to other nations and this is what seems to be happening with Wales national soccer team who is soon going to begin its Euro qualification campaign. The 23-year-old midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who plays for Arsenal, has had unique experience of sharing the dressing room with players like Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker, and Lukas Podolski and he is not alone to lead his team in the European tourney as world’s priciest player Gareth Bale is also getting lots of tips from other teammates in Real dressing room and they both are thrilled to enhance their national team with regrown expertise they got playing for different clubs.
Their first match is with Andorra while other teams would be out of Bosnia, Herzegovina, Belgium, Israel, and Cyprus in Group B. Talking about the Germans and how they triumphed the FIFA event, Wales international said, “I am not jealous of them winning the tournament, but the big thing about watching those games was thinking about hopefully being there with Wales and what it would be to go to a World Cup or a European Championship. Me and Gareth Bale achieved things at club level last season and you do want that same feeling with the national team.
“You have a taste of success with your club and you want to reach as high as you can with your country too, and that would mean qualifying for a World Cup or Euros. That is what I want to do. Maybe not everyone shares the same excitement or maybe needs to be convinced that it will be different this time. We’ve been guilty in the past of getting off to bad starts and immediately putting a dampener on things.”
Actually, this is nothing new but an important opportunity for youngsters who can sharpen their skills along with gaining lots of tips from their seniors using the common platform of soccer giants. Let’s see how Walsh national team performs in the qualifiers and then in the 2016 event.
