AC Milan and Brazil’s striker Alexandre Pato could make a shift from his existing club to newly crowned World Champions Corinthians. Milan’s CEO has confirmed of receiving an offer for both of Brazilian players Alexandre Pato and Robinho. He admitted that he would do everything he can to ensure at least Robinho stays with them. Furthermore, he also said that if, in case, they both decide to make a shift to their national club, Milan will not seek any replacement for them. Galliani told a Channel here in Milan that “An offer has arrived for Pato. Basically, in defence and midfield we will not be signing anyone and if Pato and Robinho remain – or if only one leaves – then we won’t bring in any replacements.
“We believe the right number of strikers to have is five, as if two new ones arrive, then there won’t be space for M’Baye Niang. We’re doing everything to keep hold of Robinho, although I am not certain that we’ll succeed.
“He is happy to stay here and has a wonderful rapport with the coach and team but his wife and children want the beaches of Santos. I hope to convince him to stay here, though he is virulently asking to leave Milan and go back home.”
However, none of the players has confirmed anything as yet, perhaps, Pato’s agent, Gilmar Veloz has said that his client is looking forward to make a shift, but it will only happen if a contract is agreed upon. He also reiterated that it is a sensitive matter to make a shift from a club like Milan to other biggies; hence nothing has yet been finalized. But, there is another side of the story that says Milan is looking forward for Ivorian powerhouse Didier Drogba during January transfer window; hence they have asked 15 million euros for Pato to move to any other club. Furthermore, Pato has recently been become a surplus stock for them coz of his persisting knee injuries, hence his probable shift to his native club will be lot more comfortable and manageable for him.
Robinho has earlier been associated with Santos back in 2005 where he left to join Real Madrid but could not do so; hence he had to join Milan after an unsettled two-year spell with Manchester City. But his injuries gradually kept him away of Milan’s primary squad.
