Soccer is the world of uncertainties where top knocking players /officials are always taken as the priciest assets for their clubs, however if they fail to justify their worth, these club don’t mind throwing them out overnight and this trend is more prominent in English soccer which is known for its professionalism and wants only results. Andre Villas-Boas, the former Spurs coach is one such official who was sacked by Tottenham back in December and Portuguese football think tank has since been more selective and cautious for his next destination. He has not signed any deal with any team since his previous association with league club and justifies this break as a necessary to reload his batteries after a daunting period in England. He recently gave an interview where he talked about his past experience and why he is not available to be signed these days, he, though, justified his break as the opportunity to look around and filter out the best places coz he does not want to be with a team who doesn’t not care of his seniors officials – obviously, he was talking about Tottenham where he did not get a welcome treatment during the last stage of his tenure.
In fact, many are predicting Germany as his next destination coz he was seen with Bayern Munich during a summer training camp in Qatar though he refuses to comment on that. Indeed, he has been a great fan of Munich manager Pep Guardiola and always admires his style of managing a team whenever he gets an opportunity. In this interview too he described him as, “His legacy is already huge. He is highly valued by every coach in the world. If you look at how the European top teams play these days, then it is only down to the inspiration he has given with Barca. He has changed football. The way it should be played. He has opened the world’s eyes.”
He also has had a soft corner for Bundesliga side Schalke; hence his well-wishers want to see him playing with a big German club very soon. However, when asked about his next destination, he clarified his time off and said, “I have decided to take a break. I want to learn a bit and refresh my batteries. But I can’t imagine a life without football. If you have the chance to, over a couple of days, follow the training sessions of two top German teams, you should take it. I’ve learnt that it has to fit 100 percent, and the club has to value the coach.”
