There are few players who – over the time – become the identity for their respective sides hence they are never expected to leave the clubs they have been playing with for so long with a fertile record. Real Madrid’s Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Messi are two such names who are never expected to even think about playing for any other side in the world, even though every few months rumors prevail linking them with others for obvious reasons. Lionel Messi, who has not been having a good time at Camp Nou off late is the prime target for media geeks who are aggressively fueling his reported spat with the club bosses and how he even hinted to leave the side once. But nothing like this actually happened and Argentine is still playing with his well-known fire and just scored another hat trick. Andres Iniesta, the colleague of Messi at Barcelona, is the one who as well does not want Messi play for any other side in his remaining career hence says, whatever forward has said about his future in January was nothing but a spontaneous statement made without any authenticity.
Barca fans often take these stories as nothing but media attempt to gain on popularity that is why 27-year-old never said anything clearly if he is really looking for a second home. Talking about Messi’s future Iniesta said on FIFA official website, “I hope and wish that Leo can be with Barca for a long time, because he has been, is and will be fundamental to our competing for honours. That’s my sole desire. Look, there’s no denying that when there’s so much talk on the outside and when it’s not about football or your play, it can affect things. You try, or at least should try, to ignore all of that because a lot of it isn’t true. The sheer number of reports can annoy you.
“That said, we know we’re at a club where a lot is asked of you, where everything is magnified tenfold. There are so many opinions and a lot of things can come from that. When things aren’t going exactly to plan, then we have to deal with those kind of situations.
“The only way we can change that and make the public more settled is by playing well and winning. That way they forget a bit about all the stuff on the outside and focus instead on what their players are doing on the pitch.”
