No matter who is leading the premiere league table, it is a fact that most of the soccer experts believe Arsenal should have been the title winner coz they were the strongest side among the top four on the board, but after their failure to carry on their earlier form, Gunners failed to threat anyone among the top of the leaderboard and now when Leicester City is almost certain to be crowed as the next premier winner, players are openly talking about Ivan Gazidis side and why they could not win a long awaited league silverware. Emirate side beat Norwich City by 1-0 last night at home taking their board position one rank higher, i.e., at third position and only scorer of the game was 25-year-old Danny Welbeck who talks about what they missed in the season and if they will get another chance nearby. Without being over optimistic with the home win, Welbeck rather showed his disappointment over the course of the ranking and accepted it was the best opportunity for them to win English topflight, he said, “Everyone is very disappointed. It was a great opportunity for us to go for the title this season and it is difficult to handle the way it is ending. We know as a club that we should be doing better than this.”
Looking at the current rankings and its arithmetic, it is now impossible for Arsène Wenger to finish atop on the board, however, best they can do is finishing at number two which would be a right way to accept their failure and answer the critics. Adding about fans reaction and if they got distracted by fans chanting inside the stadium, Welbeck said, “As a player you have to focus on the match and not on the surroundings. Fans are so important to football clubs and you have to respect that everyone has an opinion.
“When you are on the bench you want to come on and make an impact and I got the goal. It was a difficult game, they were fighting to the end but we had to get the three points. I just want to play every single game after being out for such a long time. I am building up my fitness. I prefer to play as a striker but I will do my best as long as I am on the pitch.”
