Brazil hails Spain in Confederation Cup final
3 - 0 Brazil hails its sovereignty in Confederation Cup by defeating its closest rival Spain by a comprehensive 3-0 margin. It was a magnificent show of brilliant soccer by whole Brazilian team where their defense never let Spanish strikers equalize their lead. Notably, Fred was the man to watch for coz he scored first goal of the match in just 90 seconds of the game. It was third consecutive confederation cup for Latin Americans and they almost crushed Spain who was unbeaten for last 29 matches. Neymar also shined in front of eighty thousands applauded spectators by scoring his brilliant left foot goal in forty fourth minute of the game. Spain got some good chances but it could not capitalize on any of those, in fact, a sure shot penalty shot was missed by Sergio Ramos that made his team’s position even more miserable. Stage is set for mega Confederation Cup Final
Two finest soccer teams are finally here at Maracana to face each other in the Confederation cup 2013 final. Maracana stadium, which is also known as the true cathedrals of the sport, has a capacity of around 80000 spectators along with more than one hundred ground staff personnel, but the match would also be joined by thousands of protesters who are showing their grief on rising prices of daily essentials while government is spending billions of dollars on hosting a sporting event. England out of Under-20 World Cup
England’s under-20 team again lost an important international event when they were thrown out of U20 world cup by Egypt. They lost by 2-0 and finished on the last place in their group; their defeat gave an indirect advantage to other two teams Iraq and Chile. Actually, England required at least a draw to keep its hopes alive but two late goals from Trezeguet and Hassan Ahmed ruined their odds to go to the knockout stage. It was their third match in the tournament after they drew their first two games. This is, in fact, the worst period going on for young English team coz they have played as many as 16 matches in world cup without even a single win which is a shocking for a team of this caliber. As far U20 world cup journey is concerned, it is full of miserable performances; coz they have not overcome in any WC match since 1997. Known out stage will begin from coming Tuesday when four more teams will be out of the scene. The match was rather a close one for both teams coz no one could … [Read more...]
Blatter offers 100$ million aid for Brazil
Whether anyone believes it or not but a pressure has its effects especially on peoples sitting on the higher seats. Upcoming FIFA world is facing widespread protests across Brazil even since first Confederation cup match kicked off; the demands of protestors are genuine: how can an economically recessive country spend billions of dollars on football infrastructure when thousands of peoples are dying every year for lack of basic healthcare facilities? This time, it holds true in Brazil where ground infrastructure work is way behind of its time while World cup preparation work is going on in full swing. Not to mention how protestors are encircling every confederation match venue to show their solemnity about Brazilian economic issues; perhaps it is still unclear whether final math will be concluded smoothly on Sunday, or not. FIFA president Sepp Blatter, who was showing his confidence to complete Confederation cup along with upcoming world cup without being affected by severe protests, … [Read more...]
