The 46-year-old former professional footballer and ex-Bolton Wanderers Manager Owen Coyle has now joined the EPL club Wigan on a twelve months rolling contract. The news is confirmed by none other than Wigan chairman Dave Whelan who told this to BBC sport that such a deal has taken place. Coyle has been a known figure in soccer fraternity with many ups and downs in his career. Earlier, he has been Bolton manager from 2010 to 2012 but sacked from there after The Wanderers failed to save the relegation. Wigan’s former manager Roberto Martinez was also forced to leave the club after he could not deliver in the Premier League; hence it would be the same world again for the new manager coz here too he would be facing a firing weapon if he ever makes a mistake. Chelsea sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Andre Schurrle
Jose Mourinho finally takes charge of Chelsea’s think-tank and starts signing his notable players. Germany international forward, Andre Schurrle, who has long been a favorite for the London club, is finally a man in the Blues. Notably, Chelsea’s earlier attempt to sign him could not materialize for some reasons but now new manager tries his best and used his negotiation skills to lure Bayer Leverkusen with a £18m paycheck which is much more than 22-year old forward had earlier demanded. The promising striker has a decent track record this season and scored 11 goals in 34 league games played for his German club Bayer Leverkusen. Soccer is a game where top performers are always on the radar of more than one clubs and Lille coach Rudi Garcia is one such soccer personality who has a proven track record on the field. Under-20 World Cup will go ahead despite violence in Turkey: FIFA
FIFA again shows its commitment about an international event despite ground level disturbances. This time, it shows its assurance to complete the Under-20 World Cup which is scheduled to be started from June 21. Turkey, the co-host of the event, is going through antigovernment riots; perhaps the situation is much tensed there as police is daily using tear gas and water cannons to spread the public. Istanbul, the host of all eleven Turkey’s world cup matches, is the badly affected area where demonstrations are being carried on by mobs throughout the city. Mourinho attends first press conference as Chelsea manager
Mourinho is finally a man in The Blue for the second time in his career. He officially took place a press conference on Monday where more than 250 journalists fired questions from all corners, but magnificent Mourinho never hesitated to answer every bit of query he was asked. He also unveiled his official t-shirt wearing his name and described himself a ‘Special One’ during his press meet. The Portuguese brainy has earlier led Chelsea back from 2004 to 2007; perhaps he has a record of two back to back title wins for The Blues. He is similarly optimistic for his second spell as well and that is why he has been given a lucrative budget to hire new talents he thinks fit for Chelsea’s next campaign.
