Sheikh Salman Joins FIFA executive committee

May 2, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

In one of the dramatic turnarounds in Asian football, Bahrain’s Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa is elected as the president of Asian Football confederation beating his two rivals UAE’s Yousef Al Serkal and Thailand`s Worawi Makudi in the first round of voting. He required two third of the votes to be elected in the prestigious FIFA executive committee and he got as many as 33 votes out of 46 leaving Youssef Al-Serkal of the United Arab Emirates in the third place with six votes - just one behind to Worawi Makudi of Thailand. The margin of win is too much which is coz of the downfall in the popularity of current president Mohamed Bin Hammam who is facing a life ban after naming in the bribe scandal off late. Other two contestants were considered closed to Hammam and that is why they faced the heat of rejection from everywhere. Actually, Sheikh Salman also stood against Hammam in the same presidential election back in 2009 and then lost by a narrowed margin, but this time he was at … [Read more...]

Jose Mourinho to part his ways from Real Madrid

Nothing could be worst for a coach than leaving his club with bitter memories. European cup is almost reached to its final stoppage and Real Madrid journey has been halted at the semifinal stage – early than expected. This is the point where both Madrid and Mourinho seem to be parting their ways despite the fact that Mourinho did take them to the third successive semifinal of the European league. Now, when Madrid is out of the league, speculations have started that he will be axed after this season or probably he would return to England after facing some humiliating comments over their performance in the league. The 50 year old ‘The Special One’ would love to join a club ‘where people love me to be’. Ex Chelsea manager has not hinted any particular team he would love to join, but indications are that he would be back to his old club Chelsea after Madrid ended their Champion League campaign when lost to Borussia Dortmund with 4-3 margin in aggregate. Probably, he would remain at his … [Read more...]

Uruguayan footballer Luis Suarez is in the news these days for his noble act of shame when he bit Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic at Anfield. Though, he got a ten matches’ ban for his shameful act on the field, yet fans are not willing to spare him in any way. Player of the year awards were honored last night at the Grosvenor Hotel in Mayfair, central London.
