Luis Suarez now wants to stay with Liverpool

How things can change in football world is known to everyone and a perfect example of how players change their comments to suit the atmosphere they are living in is right here. Liverpool high profile striker Luis Suarez has until been saying that he wants to make a shift to play in the Champions league, and now he is saying a completely different thing, perhaps he now looks like to be more loyal to Liverpool than he was one month back. Last month, he gave an interview and openly said that he would like to move to another club if it means he can play in the Champions league next season. Notably, he has a contract with Liverpool to play with them until 2017, so he is nowhere near to that expiry then how he suddenly wants to play for another club would surely have a reasonable backdrop. Moreover, media recently reported his links up with many clubs including Juventus, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich, but looks like he could not have a comfortable deal with any of them hence he has … [Read more...]

Joleon Lescott wants another deal with Manchester City

Joleon Lescott joined EPL club Manchester City back in 2009 at a hefty fee of around 22 million, he has since been a regular part for the FA cup finalists, but as of now, his current contract is going to expire soon; hence he is quite skeptical about whether he will be offered another deal by his club or not. He surely wants to continue with the City and that is why he himself took the initiative and asked about his future at Manchester. Notably, he has played almost 100 league matches for the club which also includes an important contribution in City’s EPL title win back in 2011-12 – first time since 1968. Before City, he has been associated with many other clubs in the past, like Wolves and Everton, but the way his career preceded staying at Manchester is something that he would like to continue. Off late, he has seen some layoffs from crucial matches, including some world cup qualifiers, hence he is not sure whether City is any more interested in him or not. Though, his absence from … [Read more...]

Terry refuses a handshake with FA chairman Bernstein

April 20, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

Former English captain John Terry is the one figure who got maximum publicity from his act of racial abuse against QPR defender Anton Ferdinand last year. He had to forgo his captaincy along with four matches’ suspension. Though, he was later cleared by Westminster Magistrates Court, but English FA did not forgive him and continued his four matches’ domestic ban. Terry, who retired from international soccer last September, still remembers the trauma he had to face coz of an unjustified ban imposed by English FA. Now, when Bernstein met with Terry along with other Chelsea players, he clearly snubbed his handshake with him without saying anything. This is something which got media attention and brings him in the news for his brave act of retaliation against a notable soccer personality. He later confirmed the reason for refusing handshake with the chairman by saying; he was the same man who played an important role in removing him from captainship. He gave an interview to a new source … [Read more...]

Michael Carrick is shortlisted for PFA player of the year

Professional players association just issued their last six nominated players of the year which includes Manchester United’s Michael Carrick. This player of the year award has ever been one of the most prestigious awards in soccer fraternity even since it started forty years ago. The highlight of this honor is its independent selection process where professional players vote for their favorite players and no player can cast for his own club’s player. This year, Manchester United Michael Carrick is the probable name to win the title. The midfielder has played more than 350 EPL matches along with more than 50 UEFA matches and this is probably the first time he has been nominated for this award. Other players included in the list are Tottenham’s Gareth Bale, United’s Robin van Persie, Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Juan Mata. Out of the probable, Gareth Bale and Robin van Persie have already won this title back in 2010-11 and 2011-12 respectively. Notably, Bale and … [Read more...]

The expected budget of coming Brazil 2014 World cup is around $13.6 billion and it is a known fact that Brazil is shaking all the way to provide world class infrastructure facilities amid high rising costs and internal problems over there, perhaps many of WC venues are still not ready and bypassed their due deadlines. American rating agency Standard & Poor has now warned about 2018 world cup being hosted by Russia, it said that most of the cities where matches are scheduled to play are going to face financial crunches coz of mounting cost they are going to incur.
