Everyone knows how the stadiums’ renovation work is going on in Brazil which is the host of June 2014 FIFA world cup, and surprisingly after many promises, Brazil has not been able to deliver number of stadiums it said before. There is going to be Confederations Cup in June 2013 and FIFA has asked Brazilian football association to at least ready six stadiums by the end of March, but Brazil has only made two stadiums available by the deadline. The slow moving renovation work could be dangerous looking at the labor problem back in Brazil, moreover, coming world cup would be the first one to use a goal line technology which also needs extra infrastructure work there. Michael Owen announces his retirement at end of season
Former England international soccer player: Michael Owen has finally announced his retirement at the end of current season. He has been one of the most versatile English players ever since he made his debut back in 1998 World Cup when he was just 18. Rio Ferdinand axes from England’s squad for WC qualifiers
In an important makeshift in England’s national soccer team, Steven Caulker is set to replace Rio Ferdinand for the next two world cup qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro. They would have been Rio’s first games for his national team since almost two years had he been a part of them, but the good news is, 34-year-old center-back still has lots of soccer within him so he is most likely to be played in a future for English national team. There have always been several rumors running around as far soccer world is concerned, but this is probably the first time when a reputed source of daily soccer news believed on something imaginary. Manchester City Loss is United Gain; comfortable on the top
EPL season has now reached to its last leg of nine matches and Manchester United has opened its rank with a comfortable lead over second place holder City. Thanks to the City’s loss at Everton and United win over Reading that placed them on a relaxed position. At the moment, United has a clear advantage of fifteen points from its chaser: City, so only a comprehensive debacle can stop them being the next EPL title holder this year. United’s nail biting finish over Reading gave them a much needed momentum where they finally managed to win just by 1-0 thanks to Wayne Rooney who earned a lead in the 21st minute and rest is done by United defense by not allowing Reading even to equalize the lead.
