There have always been many different views about who is the ruling champion of soccer. While most of us have a strong feeling that Messi is the undisputed king of today’s football, if not of all time, but ex-Brazilian legendry Pele has a different opinion about the best soccer player of the world title, and that is, his own national, young and promising, Neymar da Silva Santos Junior, known as just Neymar. Today, he is celebrating his 21st birthday, and rumors are again started to make a comparison between him and other legendry champions of soccer, including Messi, Ronaldo, and old time star Maradona. Neymar plays for Brazil and Santos; he is an absolute master of ball flicks perhaps no one can forget his rainbow flick which was mind-blowing and stunning for soccer fans. According to Pele, Neymar is a much better player than Messi; the only thing that Messi edges to him, is the experience otherwise there is no comparison among two. Many Brazilian have already started naming Neymar as … [Read more...]
Liverpool’s CL match against Debrecen in 2009 was fixed?
Just few days ago, UEFA’s investigators hinted about more than 500 matches which were assumingly fixed, but they did not name any of the players or matches that time. Now, a match is being specified by Europol as suspected to be fixed, and that was Liverpool’s Champions Leagues clash with Hungarian club Debrecen back in 2009. Reportedly, Debrecen goalie Vukasin Poleksic had been approached by bookmakers before two of their matches, but he did not inform UEFA about those offers. Later, he also faced the disciplinary actions by European governing body for not reporting an important incident to them, and consequently, he was banned for two years in 2010, but at that time, UEFA did not reveal the exact reasons for his ban. Now, it is being flashed out by the media that it was the consequence of Europol’s match fixing investigations. Even Liverpool earlier denied being aware of any such investigations about any of their matches. Their spokesman said, “We have had no contact from Europol or … [Read more...]

Manchester City and PSG are under scanner for financial fair play violations
Two money rolling clubs Manchester City and Paris St Germain are under scanner of UEFA for their misconducts over financial fair play policy compliances. UEFA, reportedly, has warned these clubs to prove they are not cheating via inflating their income by signing sponsorship deals with owners’ associates companies. Notably, both clubs have signed some big sponsorship deals last year, and most of these deals were belonged to their owners’ sister concerns, which means, according to UEFA, these clubs are fictitiously inflating their income to gain more buying power in transfer windows, which further lays unfair playing field for others. UEFA reports these presumed violations in its annual report published recently where it suspected there are around 46 clubs covering 22 European countries who would need to prove their money flow in the past year. City’s recent deal worth £400million with Etihad airline is under scanner coz its Abu Dhabi-based owners have a controlling stake in the … [Read more...]
European investigators find 680 fixed matches
In one of the shocking findings by the European Union’s joint police body, there are more than 680 matches that were fixed in one way of another. While more than half of them happened in European soil, rests are related to other parts of the world, including Africa, America, and Asia. Moreover, these fixed matches are not confined to few soccer events; perhaps they cover every popular soccer league and tournament, like World Cup, European Championship qualifiers and Champions League matches. This is perhaps the most alarming single to all the fans of soccer, and more importantly, investigators have also said that there would be more findings once they carry on their investigations. Rob Wainwright, the head of Europol who is doing the investigations, said, “This is a sad day for European football, and more evidence of the corrupting influence of organized crime.” He also added that criminals were gaining money from soccer fixing on a large scale. Accordingly, there are players, … [Read more...]
