There is no better way to acknowledge an ex-record holder than gifting him something special and this is what is being done by Barca’s Lionel Messi who recently broke Mueller’s maximum number of goals in one calendar year record. Reportedly, Messi paid a tribute to German legend when he sent his signed shirt to him. He regards it a way to show his admiration and hug to an eminent soccer player. He wrote on the shirt, “With my respect and admiration. A hug. Leo” and signed it along with his name and number ‘10.’ Gerd Muller was the legendry German striker who scored 85 goals in 1972 and set a record which remained unbroken for more than forty years, until Lionel Messi could manage to break it; perhaps he added six more goals to set a new record of scoring maximum number of goals in one calendar year. On a personal front, he has a reputation of one of the most humble players who believes in relationships, so his initiative to acknowledge an old legend is being appreciated from all … [Read more...]
Ticket pricing row and City return a third of ticket allocation back to Arsenal
Category A soccer games have always been costly than other matches for live spectators, but this time Arsenal seem to be in record breaking mood when they set a £62 ticket price for their Sunday home clash with Manchester City. The price being asked has received much criticism from around the world, preferably considering the monopolistic strategy being followed by Wenger team for their home game. Showing the dissimilarity; City has returned almost a third of its allocated tickets back to Arsenal citing they are too expensive for their fans. The match is also going to be telecasted live on Sky Sports; hence fans would like to watch on TVs rather accepting arbitrary quotation. The situation has now turned into a dramatic form, coz Arsenal has already closed further selling of tickets and City has returned almost 912 tickets back to them, which means there would be around one thousand seats laying blank on the showdown day, which is very surprising considering the importance of this … [Read more...]

Last October, a Bulgaria fan made monkey chant over Denmark black defender Patrick Mtiliga in a world cup qualifier. As a result, Bulgaria will have to play its next qualifier against Malta on March 22 in a vacant stadium. … [Read more...]
