Cristiano Ronaldo is back, perhaps back with a bang! Real Madrid lost two matches in a row, and finally saw the magic of its star striker Ronaldo who scored two fantastic goals in quick succession to crown a much needed win to his club. With this win, Madrid has improved its position in the leaderboard, yet well behind top positioned Barcelona. Both of his goals came in 68th and 70th minute of the game. Despite a powerful performance in the match, Ronaldo faced many criticisms coz of his inconsistence performances which is a little heart breaker for the striker. Expressing his woe on the mixed feedbacks, he said, “Not even God can please everyone. I always try to be a good person who the majority of people like. But showing too much humility is a flaw. People either hate me or love me. I always try and work hard in order to be the best at what I do. In my opinion, everybody should have the objective to be the best at what they do, regardless of his or her profession.” Anyways, life … [Read more...]
Dean Saunders takes charge of Wolves after Luton end Stale Solbakken’s contract
English football club Wolverhampton Wanderers gave a deserving gift to its long time non-performing manager Stale Solbakken by firing him all of a sudden. Perhaps, he joined the team of three managers in less than eleven months, and all of them got the ill treatment just coz their club lost few matches. Doncaster Rovers’ manager Dean Saunders has been appointed to fill his space and he immediately accepted it despite a sign of warning from retiring manager Solbakken. Solbakken, reportedly, warned him that he will have to face the similar problems as he did in his eleven months’ stay at Molineux. But, Saunders remained unaffected by his warning and spent little time in signing the deal. This is not his first managerial job; perhaps he has served as coach also to several clubs, like Bradford, Blackburn, Newcastle and Wales in the past, hence he thinks he has sufficient reasons to assume his competency for the most challenging job at the club. Saunders, 48 year old, has played for … [Read more...]
