After some African and Bulgarian clubs, Singapore is the next to take on match fixing much seriously than others. In the latest developments, Football Association of Singapore’s general secretary Winston Lee has confirmed their intentions to use mandatory polygraph tests to cure rising complaints of match fixing. Perhaps, match fixing is a global cancer which is hollowing the proudest sport in the world. In many parts of the world, some big clubs or rather big players are often alleged for their involvement in some sort of match fixing. Birmingham City Football Club confirms short term signing of Papa Diop
Senegalese footballer, who has been a free agent for quite some time, has finally got a job - though for a short term only. Birmingham City Football Club has recently confirmed his signing for around a month’s period. Diop was engaged in training of Blues for last few weeks, and he now decided to shift to Birmingham. For that, he has already passed his fitness test and applied for a working Visa, and if he could get one; he will surely be seen playing for Birmingham City for at least one month. Earlier in his career, Diop has already played in three seasons for Fulham from 2004 to 2007 and then he moved to Portsmouth in 2008. He made Portsmouth won FA cup that season. Indian National team’s goalkeeper Subrata Paul is arrested after his spat in a temple
The goalkeeper of Indian national football team and Prayag United football club: Subrata Paul has been arrested by the police in Calcutta on Tuesday night. As told by the police, he had a visit to Dakshineswar Temple near Calcutta with his wife and in laws where he had a spat with other devotees and then with the security personnel. Incident became bigger when his father-in-law Debashish Mukherjee, who is also an Indian national level football player, blamed security personals of misbehaving him and his family. However, security personnel have their own say, they said, Mukherjee himself was dunked and misbehaved with the security personnel and other devotees creating havoc in the temple premises. After losing its touch in international soccer field, England’s soccer think tanks have taken an initiative to improve their inside infrastructure that could develop young soccer talent to serve England on an international level. England has lost its reign as a top international soccer team in recent years; hence it has now decided to follow the same path as France and Spain did in recent past to improve their soccer level, i.e., England, now, to have a National Football center that is built with an investment of one million pound precisely. France 2 – 0 Ghana at U-17 Women’s World Cup Semi’s
Ghana is ousted by France in the semifinal smashing all their hopes to reach in their first world’s cup final. Ghana has evolved as the promising contender for the title after defeating the most favorable tournament winner: Japan in the quarterfinal. But in semi’s, France beat them comprehensively by 2-0 margin and march its army to play in the final. Despite defeat, Ghana became the first African team to be among top four in a world cup. Priscilla Okyere, the captain of Ghana, was highly optimistic to win this match, but it was not one of his luckiest days and he could not make the history. France fired both goals in both playing sessions and their numbering player for both goals was striker Diani Kadidiatou who scored these goals in 31st and 89th minutes respectively.
