The difference between good and star players is thin and narrow; while good players, most of the time, search for the better opportunities, star players are those who convert every available opportunity into the biggest one and former Liverpool forward Luis Suarez is the perfect example of this. When the whole world is censuring FIFA for its harsh verdict against the Uruguayan international, Player of the Year is taking it as a blessing in disguise. Yes, the first reaction ever since Barca star landed in the Switzerland for the hearing of his second appeal in front of final appellant authority: CAS has now come after getting some relaxation from the international arbitrator. He says, “(I’m) happy to be with his teammates and feel like a footballer again.” This is now a world known fact that Suarez bit Italian player Giorgio Chiellini during a world cup game and later FIFA disciplinary committee found him guilty of breaching the mortal code of conduct on third occasion in two years … [Read more...]

Slapping another hand on the face of the Uruguayan international Luis Suarez, Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected his appeal to reconsider his four months ban issued by the FIFA disciplinary committee during the world cup for his biting act to Italian player Giorgio Chiellini. His first appeal to reconsider the decision had already been rejected by the FIFA itself in June and CAS was his last hope, but unfortunately, even this tribunal found his mistake worthy enough to exile him from the game. Importantly, his ban had until disallowed him to even travel with his club team, but giving some relief to the Barcelona forward, CAS has granted him permission to train with his club. The verdict is strange not because it is being upheld by the supreme sports arbitration authority but because both Suarez and his battery of lawyers were confident his sanction would surely be reduced since pressure was building up on the judge for giving him some kind of relief. The good news is … [Read more...]

It puts additional pressure over last year’s superstar to perform even better to justify mounting salary he is getting.
