Barca Makes History in La Liga

November 4, 2012 by 888Scoreonline

La Liga

Barcelona has been participating in La Liga for last 113 years, but for the first time; it makes a thrilling start where it remained unbeaten for its first ten played matches. Especially, it is still unbeaten and no one knows how long this record will stretch. Saturday was the history day for Barca when it defeated courageous Celta Vigo by 3-1 and remained its status unbeaten. With this win, Barca is leading the leaderboard with its 28 points in 10 played matches, perhaps its position is getting strong as a day passes by in Spanish league. By the half time, Barco was leading with 2-1; Adriano and David Villa scored for it in 21st and 26th minutes and for Celta; Mario Bermejo scored the only goal in 24th minute. By the half time, it was apparent that Barca has made the history, and David Villa, in second half, confirmed it by scoring another goal surging the winning margin to 3-1.

Barcelona position has always been compared with Real Madrid, and this time, it has a clear lead in that respect, coz it is almost 8 points ahead of Real Madrid, who has to clash with Zaragoza later. Earlier, Louis van Gaal’s 1997-98 Barcelona side won eight matches and drawn one match before conceiving their first defeat, and now, Barca has nine wins and one draw and yet to conceive a defeat. Celta was expected to be a tough challenge for Barca considering their pass skills in the midfield and especially at the time when Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol were not presented in center half for Barcelona. However, Barca think tank decided to land Sergio Busquets with Javier Mascherano in midfield to control the ball flow in the midfield. Despite the fact that Barca was lacking Cesc Fabregas, Xavi Hernandez, and Andres Iniesta in the middle, Barcelona proved why they are called the best soccer combination in the world. On the other side, now, the pressure is on Real Madrid to recover from its bad start this season.

Out of the blue news is Lionel Messi has just become a father after his long time girlfriend gave birth to their first child Thiago on Friday. Anyhow, doesn’t matter who is performing how, everybody wants to see Barcelona and Real Madrid competing with each other in the finals which would be the ideal scenario for La Liga, as it has always been!
