Former England captain David Beckham, the owner of new MLS franchise, reveals his dream to see his son playing for his team one day. Looking at his son and his addiction to his father’s favorite sport, it looks very likely that next decade would be the era to see both father and son engaging in a same game. His older son Brooklyn is 14 year old so fans would have to wait for next few years to see him shaking his legs on the field. The 38-year-old famous footballer is busy giving final touch to his investment in Miami. Actually, it is every player’s dream to see his next generation follow his footstep, but ultimately, it depends upon the degree of interest his next develop in this game. However, at the moment, Beckham is hopeful he would see his children playing for his MLS team and confidently answered when specifically asked by a journalist in an interview on Wednesday, he replied, “Yes, hopefully, hopefully. As long as the boys are happy, as long as they enjoy playing football and they have fun doing it then, whether they play at professional level or whether they play at Sunday league level, I don’t care.”
Another thing that worries former Manchester United striker is his kids can never play soccer without being caught by the media, in fact, they would have to learn how to maintain personal career while being in the spotlight and if they could do so they would surely carry his legacy in near future. Beckham has always been a media candy throughout his career even his last spell of six months, though for a charity cause, has been full of media headlines where he was being trapped by as many as six media vans whenever he entered into the training ground; hence his successors would also enjoy a similar welcome from the world media which could have been a welcome gift for anyone else but not for junior Beckham.
He talked about his excitement owning a franchise finally which has been his dream during last few years of his professional career. He said about his new venture, “I am excited about owning a team … continuing to be part of the MLS in the future. Miami excites me because I think it’s a city that is very excitable. ‘I’ve been to watch the basketball there. I’ve seen the Dolphins play. It’s a city where the people in the city love their sport.”
Anyhow, the world is looking forward to see any of his four kids to enter and play professional soccer!
